Project lifecycle

From an early concept to a coordinated design package.

Work can start at any point in the sequence, or run the whole way through it.

Concept

Establishing the electrical arrangement: what the substation has to do, how it connects, and the layout and plant that follow from it. Enough detail to size the site, test the idea and price it sensibly.

Feasibility

Testing the concept against the real constraints — site obstructions, existing utility drawings, clearances, access and buildability — and comparing arrangements where more than one would work.

Detailed design

The full coordinated package: layouts, elevations, schematics, schedules, calculations and materials lists, produced so the primary, protection and cable disciplines agree with each other.

Technically correct is the minimum. Buildable and proportionate to the project is the standard — a design that cannot be installed sensibly is not finished.
