The physical substation: how the plant is arranged, connected, earthed, labelled and specified.

Getting the circuit from A to B: routed, rated, and installable without damaging the cable.

A substation design goes wrong in the gaps between disciplines far more often than inside any one of them. This is how those gaps get closed.

Project lifecycle
From an early concept to a coordinated design package.
Work can start at any point in the sequence, or run the whole way through it.
Concept
Establishing the electrical arrangement: what the substation has to do, how it connects, and the layout and plant that follow from it. Enough detail to size the site, test the idea and price it sensibly.
Feasibility
Testing the concept against the real constraints — site obstructions, existing utility drawings, clearances, access and buildability — and comparing arrangements where more than one would work.
Detailed design
The full coordinated package: layouts, elevations, schematics, schedules, calculations and materials lists, produced so the primary, protection and cable disciplines agree with each other.

Technical competence
The engineering behind the drawings and calculations is understood, not just reproduced. That is what makes a design defensible when someone reviews it properly.
Practical design
Technically correct is the minimum. Buildable and proportionate to the project is the standard — a design that cannot be installed sensibly is not finished.
Efficient delivery
No unnecessary work, no duplicated effort, no process for its own sake. The output is what was needed, produced once, properly.
Clear scope
Understanding what is actually required and delivering against it. Not padding the package, and not discovering the real scope halfway through.
Responsive
Questions go to the engineer doing the work and get answered. No account layer relaying technical queries to someone who has to go and ask.
Straightforward
Get the job done without unnecessary hassle. Most of the friction on a design package is avoidable, and avoiding it is part of the service.
